ECO-INNOVATION CONVERTIBLE COT PROJECT

This is a pioneering project in Spain that Muebles Ros wants to take forward with three companies outside the furniture sector: CENFIM, Centre de Difusió Tecnològica del Moble de Catalunya, USC Universidad de Santiago de Compostela, and ICTA (the Environmental Science and Technology Institute). The project requires a great deal of work, focusing on the study of the environment and the lifecycle of a convertible cot/bed, in the case of Grupo Ros. The system analysed includes the lifecycle of the manufacture of this product, including energy consumption and the production of the various articles used for its manufacture, Transportation includes both the shipping of the raw materials to the factory and the final delivery of the finished product to the point of use and the transportation of the waste generated in the process for its management or final elimination. The aim of the project is to incorporate the best techniques and clean technologies available for the manufacturing processes of companies in the secondary wood sector, minimizing CO2 emissions to reduce their environmental impact and achieve greater efficiency in terms of the consumption of raw materials and a reduction on the waste generated in the company.

USE OF BIODEGRADABLE PAINT

The two-component water-soluble polyurethane varnishes we use are produced and commercialized by ICA Spa. These varnishes are the result of the LIFE technological innovation project financed by the European Commission to promote constant efforts with respect to protecting the environment.
